Description

We have two of these highly-prized camel Benches dating back to the 1870's, a chance to own a piece of history. We believe these are currently the only ones on the market.

Originally installed on the Victoria Embankment, London, near the Houses of Parliament, in the late 1870's to mark the opening of Cleopatra’s Needle which spent four years on a voyage from Egypt.

George Vulliamy, an architect to the Board of Works, he also designed an ornamental dolphin lamp alongside benches featuring sphinx and camel shaped armrests.

You can see these in situ in photos 9 and 10.
