 Persian pile wool Vis rug. Originating from the Vis village near Golpayegan in Iran, are known for their distinctive geometric tribal motifs, often rendered in bold crimson and blue colours. These rugs, like Caucasian and Kazak designs, are woven by a mix of Kurdish, Azeri, and Bakhtiari tribes. Key features include a unique seven-sided geometric medallion, often with jewel-like shapes at either end, and a bold, intricate border.
