Jodhpur, often referred to as the Blue City, is where we source our furniture. Jodhpur is a cultural gem, renowned for its rich history, vibrant colours, and exquisite handcrafted furniture. Each piece is crafted using time-honored techniques passed down through generations, ensuring exceptional quality and authenticity. From hand-painted Indian doors to carved wooden Almirah’s, these stunning creations are the heart and soul of our furniture collection.
Why we go to India to source furniture
What makes our collection even more special is that many of the Indian arches and doors we source come from original buildings in India, some even dating back hundreds of years. These pieces have a unique history and character, carrying with them the stories of the buildings they once adorned. The artisans carefully restore and transform them, preserving their original charm and craftsmanship while breathing new life into each piece.
Discovering Jodhpur’s Rich Cultural Heritage
Beyond the furniture, Jodhpur offers a treasure trove of cultural experiences that have helped shape our designs. From visiting the grand Mehrangarh Fort to exploring the stunning Umaid Bhawan Palace, we immersed ourselves in the beauty of this historical city. The intricate frescoes, decorative arches, and vibrant hues found throughout the Blue City provided endless inspiration for our collections.
Creating Custom Furniture Designs
Our trip to Jodhpur wasn’t just about sourcing existing furniture; it was also an opportunity to design custom furniture with the local artisans and furniture suppliers. The design process was collaborative, as we worked closely with them to blend vintage Indian furniture styles with our own modern aesthetic. We have also worked with specialists in leather to create our own bespoke seating range. To add to this we have also created an industrial style furniture range, specialising in India’s mango wood.
